Default Is Daniel Bryan being wasted?

Its pretty clear as far as everyone is concerned Daniel Bryan is a pretty big deal with fans at the moment, but I feel that the WWE is completely wasting him.

First he gets beaten in 18 seconds by the useless pile of turd that is , and yes I understand it furthers his issue with AJ but seriously did he deserve that and then he gets caught up in some pointless crap with Charlie sheen! What next is he going to feud with santino and narrowly miss out on the us belt?

When he first showed up I thought Daniel Bryan was a worthless little troll (bridge troll not internet troll) but fuck has he grown on me. I absolutely love him. And for someone being one of the main focuses of the show and being big enough to have The Rock run you down in a brilliant promo I'd hardly consider that being wasted.

I get all that and yeah he is getting more tv time than most, but the guy is a wrestler, and probably the best out there at the moment. And all this tv time you talking about seems to be about putting other people over. And now it looks like he is going to be getting back into it with Kane, who I imagine will be his opponent at sumerslam, what's the point?

He's one of the handful of guys right now that's not being shafted by the crappy writing.

They have gotten DB over more than anyone else in the company this year.

If there is one thing I have come to learn on this board is most of the DB fans here are never fucking happy. Go back to these ROH glory days you all cream over and I bet if you knew then DB would be on WWE TV as much as his now you'd be plenty happy.

Once you start the thread off like this. There is no way you are looking for anything resembling a logical conversation about the subject. You have already pretty much made your line in the sand concerning Sheamus and a chunk of his year is tied to Sheamus, and they have had great matches, which pretty much dwarf Mania, and if anything Bryan came out even more over. Anyway, once this line of thinking is introduced which you did in your opening post, so it was rather quick, this thread can go nowhere but down and draw out the Bryan haters to come in yelling "He, doesn't Draw", "He doesn't have any charisma", "Only Smarks like him", and my favorite "He is too small and unbelievable". Once they come in, then it becomes more a war of words, full of bait and subtle bashing of posters, this thread will become a vehicle for posters to get over agendas and put over their idea of what a wrestler should and should not be.

Then people will come in creating unrealistic pedestal for Bryan, Sheamus, and without question the other wrestler that will enter this argument and unfair treatment. Then it becomes an attack on AJ, and maybe even wanting to see her kicked in the head. Then it becomes an attack on the WWE product [PG bad, Storylines suck, AJ is overexposed, and Daniel Bryan should be booked as The Shooter Dean Malenko etc]. Then somewhere in between there I come in and say "Kane sucks", point out Bryan having the biggest segment on The Biggest Raw in Ten Years, and something about his matches with Morishima.

You started the thread off already putting Sheamus fans on the defense and it will all spiral out of control in to attacks, which had nothing to do with the original question.

    Is Bryan being wasted currently?

Answer: In my eyes, No He gets more TV time then most of the roster if not THE most. He is a hell of performer in the ring, probably the best. He has the most over catchphrase in wrestling, so big in fact, “YES!” is the biggest chant in wrestling and is even used in multiple companies that he doesn’t even compete in. He had the highest rated segment on the biggest Raw in the last ten years,

    Kane sucks.

Fair point and I apologise shouldn't have hated on shameus he is good at what he does I just don't like it hahahaha, but I shouldn't have been antagonistic as it doesn't create a balanced discussion.

I wouldn't say I'm a Bryan über fan but it's just a shame for such a talent wrestler to have so many little annoying skits and waste of his talent. But with all that said you guys are right he is massively over he does get more time than most.

So in answer to my own question, no no no no no no no no no no no he isn't being wasted.

    Discussion over

Answer to the thread question is obviously no, however he has been made to look like a chump lately with the wedding, the Rock killing him, etc.

Needs to give somebody a major beatdown to regain his credibility. I mean absolutely ruin somebody, smash them all over the ring and make them look like the weakest piece of shit in the world.

    I nominate Dolph Ziggler.

Wins and losses are meaningless a lot of the time, but Bryan sure could use a few of them. Better stop losing so much before people stop believing he has a chance to win anything. Guy is a jobber to the stars right now.

Daniel Bryan doesn't need to win to stay strong. He is like Chris Jericho. Always believable at the top.

I started watching WWE again at episode 999. And let me tell you this:

Daniel Bryan has been, 3 weeks in a row, the most entertaining person on Raw for me. His segments are hilarious, his promos are great, and this week he had a fantastic match against Sheamus (that, IMO, wipes out the 18 second Mania loss).

His star is high, and doesn't look to be falling any time soon.

From WWE TLC (Dec 2011) to WWE MITB (July 2012) there hasn't been one PPV where he wasn't in a world/WWE heavyweight title match as either champion or challenger. I think that says a lot right there.

I think Bryan is being used fine, I dont have any beef. If you want him to be the Benoit, Malenko type who just out wrestles you and keeps a straight face then I can see where your coming from. But I think hes very entertaining as the comical heel alot like Kurt Angle was in his early WWF days. The "YES" and "NO" shouting is without a doubt the best thing for the fans since "WHAT". I dont know, I think hes ok. Now Punk is another story lol

    Yes.

He may be getting a lot of TV time, but his place on the card is ridiculous. For some reason he's already an enhancement wrestler, making everyone else look great whilst losing to them. He shouldn't be doing that at this stage in his career, especially while he's so hot with the crowd. He should be either WWE or World Heavyweight champion right now. It's a no-brainer.

    ...No?

He's probably the best booked wrestler on the roster right now. If it helps, just think of him as being in the Goofy Kurt Angle stage of his career. We all know that he can go in the ring. He's already proven that. But now he's developing a character beyond just his YES chant, and as the person a few posts above me said, he's been the most entertaining person on Raw for the last several weeks.

DB is never going to be the menacing, No Gimmick Necessary Malenko/Benoit ripoff that some people seem to want him to be. He's at his best when he comes off as slightly goofy, and yes, comedic heels tend to get picked on by the faces. Just focus less on the Rock Bottom he took and more on the fact that he was in the ring cutting a promo with Punk and The Rock, and HIS bit was actually the most entertaining.

I like how Summerslam will be the first PPV in a long time, since DBryan won't be in a World/WWE title match and people are treating it as a burial. Its just a transitional phase for him, to find a new feud for him.

Yes he is being wasted, no doubt. The guy is quality on the mic, and quality in the ring, but he is being used as a comedy act which is annoying. He is one of the main reasons I stared watch the WWE again recently, but with the way he is being used, I think I will just stick to TNA for now.
