Question tna live long term instead summer

According to a new report by PWInsider, Spike TV has indicated that there are new plans to possibly keep Impact Wrestling as a live weekly broadcast on Thursday nights.
Original plans called for the show to only run for just the summer time, and then go back to being taped on Monday and Tuesday nights.

As of this writing, nothing has been finalized and its just in the stages of discussion.

Has it made a difference? I don't watch TNA anymore, but has it really made a difference in the product?

The product is certainly better these days, but not sure going live has made a massive difference.

It's certainly made no difference to ratings. If anything they've gone down slightly.

The product I would say started getting better since last years Bound for Glory PPV as for Impact being live I think it definitely makes a difference as it gives a "anything can happen" vibe to the shows where as taped shows not so much due to spoilers so if they continue to stay live then I'm all for it.

Edit: But yeah like the poster above said there hasn't been an increase in ratings but the product is definitely better.

Good. I like not having the temptation of spoilers. TNA had a campaign on twitter before to keep the show live.

Rating should be back up some this week. Trying get us Directv customers to change providers because Viacom throw a hissy fit. As for long term live shows that is great news. It has turned TNA parties away from becoming like Smackdown parties.

I think that going live is a good thing but I think they need to push the start time back to 9:00 in the fall. When the networks come back with new programing this fall, I think the 8:00 start time will kill the ratings. For whatever reason, thursday nights have been a coveted primetime slot for decades.

I would love for it to be live...that way no spoilers can be out and I find it more entertaining.

DirectTV dropped Viacom for a couple weeks, which includes Spike TV. Hence the drop in ratings. Happened to most every Viacom show.

It's gotten me to watch it more often. Well, that and the lack of ballsacks booking usually associated with TNA.

The ratings had slightly dipped before the Viacom fiasco as well. Not massively, but down nonetheless.

I'm all for them being live. It prevents spoilers and forces them to just be better in general since they won't be able to fix things in post.

Yeah and this was down to them starting early and having a rough first hour. No biggie, but they should really promote it more in all honesty.

TNA being live has made it a lot better, and I watch a taped version on a sunday of it here in the UK. Still better because the performers are doing it live and have to do well and not fuck up. It's probably better for some talent, learning on a live show must be more nerve inducing, but I can imagine it would help them learn quicker.

Thanks to the great Hetroflexible for the awesome banner!

That's good to hear. If only they went back to the 9-11 timeslot.

Not sure why Spike has agreed to extend... can only assume TNA are telling them the increase in show quality (which has indeed occurred) will soon lead to higher ratings.
