Default David Otunga needs a mid card title push

Granted his mic skills are not the best and recently he was stuck in a mostly non-wrestling role on Raw but given the things he and his wife have gone through this year he should get a sentimental mid card title push by either beating Christian or Santino for their titles. He certainly has the physique to get over and can heavily change the landscape of either brand in a positive manner by representing and bringing home some happy times to his family.

Yes he has the physique but he is a bigger botch artist then Mr Kennedy was. If he cleans up hes in ring skills then he might be trusted as a champion because at the moment he is to stiff in the ring. On a brighter side he's mic skills seem to be improving but.

He has a great physique/look/is marketable (something WWE is severly lacking now) and is starting to pick up his mic work/charisma. I can see him being a midcard champ someday.

So now we are giving out sympathy titles? WTF man this is the same mentality shitty parents these days have that think all their kids deserve a trophy.

The guy needs to improve his in ring skills before he gets a title.

My honest opinion is that he's still a long way away.
I'm launching a pre-emptive strike on the "IWC and indy marks overhyped Sami Zayn. He's not that great." sentiment that will inevitably arise.

    You are mistaken.

Well said he wouldn't have a title in the invasion angle and everybody had a title then.

He has grown on me some. And if Khali can be World champion then Otunga can be U.S. champion.

I would be fine with him being US Champ .

The US Title barely means anything these days, so its not like it would hurt it to give him a run with it .

However, I would give Slater a run with it before I would give him one .

He needs a proper feud before we think about giving him a title.

I say a feud with someone who'll make him look good like Kofi, or someone who he'll look better in comparison to, like Orton.

How about we give Kofi the title out of sympathy for them dropping the ball with someone who is actually good

    Ding ding ding.

He should be patted on the back, fitting beautifully into his gimmick that's both funny and draws heat. He is trying to improve in the ring as well, you can see that. He pretty much sucks though, he was brought up too early, and his gimmick is now too successful to send him back down, I'd just keep him where he is, see if he keeps improving. Maybe one day.

Every wrestler in the company, with the exception of Alex Riley and a select few others, deserve a title before Otunga does.

Why does every wrestler need a title push of some sort? Some guys are good enough with the roles given them(Otunga and Slater).

By the way, Kofi is awesome damn it!

When you watch him Kofi is kind of crap, but then he's one of the only modern mid-carders that is over and doesn't lose his heat once he gets in the ring. In fact his heat is very strong in the ring. So he's doing something right. I think he's kind of decent in an unconventional way.

I think they should have Otunga back in the tag division. Call up Briley Pierce (Dolph Ziggler's little bro) to be his 'Intern'.

Finnally someone agrees with me I would be fine with him winning the us title. But that is it, I dont think he could be a world champion. Kofi in the mainevent does not seem right.

    Agree with this whole heartedly.

Otunga has grown on me a bit in his curret character , but that doesnt mean he automatically needs to win a midcard title. Let him continue his momentum , improve in the ring and see where he is at down the line. Not every wrestler in the WWE needs to hold a title at some point , hell theres alot that should never come close. Right now Otunga belongs nowhere near the singles title scene on any level.

Sure, he has improved. But a shit wrestler who has slightly improved, still makes for a bad wrestler.

No mid card title push, yet. Not until i see a lot more improvement.

    Thanks Heteroflexible

I wouldn't mind him having a Honkey-Tonk esque reign. I'm not sure if his ability in the ring is where it needs to be, I don't think he quite has the charisma to pull it off but I wouldn't mind a stall reign like that until the rest of the division gets over.

For the time being, I don't mind Christian & Santino doing their thing.
