WWE officials continue to toss around ideas for CM Punk's opponent at WrestleMania 29 in 2013. While Punk still wants the match against WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin, it may not happen. With WrestleMania 29 several months away, plans can and will change between now and then but WWE wants to have the top matches already in place.
Regarding a Punk vs. Austin match happening at WrestleMania 29, The Wrestling Observer reports that the latest word is that it's "more likely a no than a yes."

As much as I would love to see these two have a program , I never actually expected it to happen so really theres no letdown here for me.

Cena vs Taker is still possible. Yes, there's a good chance that they'll continue to pussy out, and yes, they've waited too long as it is, but I would still bet on that happening before Austin coming back, seeing as how it includes two performers who are available should WWE desire it.

At WM, Undetaker is most likely going to wrestle Brock Lesnar .

You shouldn't stereotype or group people together....I have been posting about this alot over the last few months, the reason WM 30 is more likely is that a) it's an anniversary Wrestlemania, and b) the Rock will likely be done his in-ring stuff by then. The WWE will offer Austin a ton of cash, plus Austin won't be sharing the limelight with the Rock, which is something that will feed well into Austin's ego.

Did a quick bit of research and it may be wrong, but I'm thinking the last non-WM televised match that Taker wrestled was in October 2010 when he lost to Kane at Bragging Rights.

Wasn't too too long ago. Believe it was against Kane in a Buried Alive match at Bragging Rights 2010. But yeah, I'd he surprised if he ever wrestles outside of Mania again.

As for the thread topic, everyone said Rock would never comeback and wrestle again and he came back and gave us a dream match with Cena. Never say never with Austin. I can't blame folks for holding out hope.

He's not wrong though. Austin's concern is being THE main event. Even if he wants the match, he's not going to let it happen on a card where Rock-Brock, Rock-Cena, or Taker-Brock closes.

I always thought that this match was leaning way more toward not/never happening, than might happen at Mania 29.

Rock comming is as champ as dropping the title to Cena, which is the only reason why the Rock won at mania last year.

As for Cena Vs Taker, that much i've always put down as takers last match which will probably be 30!

Their is a lot of hatred for the attitude era on this board but seriously who in their right mind would want to see a PG Austin. That's just not who he is. So them working their best styles isn't even possible and the buildup will probably be on par with how bad Jericho/Punk was.

I'll agree with that somewhat. It was Rock being dirty but slightly toned down dirtiness. Still nowhere near as vulgar as he used to be. I just don't see Vince allowing all the middle fingers and whatnot but I could be wrong.
