    Default Details of X-Title Tournament

    from impactwrestling.com

Three weeks ago on IMPACT WRESTLING, Hulk Hogan gave Austin Aries a choice: To receive a World Title Match at Destination X on July 8, he must relinquish the X-Division Championship. Austin Aries’ counter-proposal to Hogan was “Option C”; that every year at Destination X, the X-Division Champion be given the same World Title Match option. With Austin Aries deciding to take the gamble, a new X-Division champion must be crowned.

Announced this week, the new X-Division Champion will be determined in a one-night tournament at Destination X. This tournament will feature current X-Division stars battling wrestlers from outside IMPACT WRESTLING. Qualifying matches for the outside wrestlers started this past Thursday on IMPACT WRESTLING on Spike TV and continue on the July 5th edition.

At Destination X, eight wrestlers will battle in four single matches in the opening round of the tournament. The four winners will advance to the championship match that evening where the X-Division title will hang in the balance in ULTIMATE X!

Ultimate X is a match unique to the X-Division and features the most death defying moves and moments ever captured inside and above a wrestling ring. Now, with the added value to the X-Division Championship, these brave athletes will do whatever it takes to start their road to destiny; a potential World Championship match at next year’s Destination X!

Current X-Division Stars Entered for Destination X
    Zema Ion
    Kid Kash
    Doug Williams

Outside Wrestlers Qualified for Destination X
    Sonjay Dutt
    Rashad Cameron
I love that the 3 (thats sad) current guys, including Doug Williams are already qualified and that we get a look at 10 new guys to qualify for the other 5 spots and that the title will be determined in Ultimate X.

I'm hoping for a Petey Williams sighting, as well as Paul London, maybe Brian Kendrick, Homicide, Daivari as well as cant wait to see what non former TNA talent will be in the other matches.

The only thing is they better sign some of these talents this year unlike last year where they signed the lower talents.

I would bet that we see 4 more returners in 2 of the matches and 2 more newcomers in the other qualifying match.

Like I said hopefully they sign several of these guys and not let the top ones go like last year...no matter what happens they need to get Sonjay back in TNA for good and Rashad Cameron was a good newcomer...personally would love to see Dutt win the title for the first time, cant wait to see who is in it next week.

Daivari I can see as a real possibility as like with Sonjay Dutt he worked for TNA's side project Ring Ka King.

Speaking of Ra Ka King, maybe we see newcomer Chavo Guerrero, which would bring in a NAME newcomer, although I prefer to see two brand new guys it wouldn't be bad to get someone who has a name behind them.

I didn't even think of Chavo Guerrero though now that you mentioned it I wouldn't be surprised if they brought him in for it as well.

I hope TNA continues its focus on the X-Division after Destination X. Austin Aries has done a great job of elevating the division and the belt, if they carry the momentum forward then the X-Division title can be the TNA equivalent of the US/Intercontinental titles when they were actually relevant.

I keep forgetting Doug Williams is still in the company. You kever know but I don't see Homicide coming back.

Now I would love to see Amazing Red return and get a victory due to Crimson or at least some type of interaction between the two.
