what do you think of this gimmick idea

A guy arrives looking like an 80s era WWF wrestler complete with big hair, big arms, loud color tights, etc and he thinks its still the 80s cause he is from Bermuda and was trying to get to the WWE in the 80s but took a boat through the Bermuda triangle and just now gets out and finally makes it to the WWE. He doesnt understand current technology, has old school pyro and theme music and uses a running powerslam finisher and some sort of elbow or leg drop or figure four leg lock and is great in the ring. He could even have Jimmy Hart as his manager.

Hmmm... I love it minus Jimmy Hart. The guy should aspire bigger, IMO.

Also, how will he know what WWE is if his lifelong goal was to join the WWF?

I know and I just thought if he's going through the triangle he may have been trying to get to WCW. Which he now discovers is owned by WWF which is now known as WWE. He could come with intent to get WCW back from the evil WWf/e etc lol

There's actually a better way to go about this gimmick. In some countries, WWE stopped airing shows. I remember after Luke Gallows and Domino got trapped in Nigeria, Domino said on Cabana's podcast that they used to get Smackdown in Nigeria, but it stopped airing in like 2007, so anybody from the mid-2000's is a huge star over there, but they don't know any of the current stuff.

The cool way to go about this, would be to be from a country where WWE stopped airing shows a long time ago, and claim that this is the only brand of wrestling they know. Which would actually be a neat comedy gimmick.

I don't know why I even entertained this though,t, but there you go.

I actually like this idea. It would have to be done with a huge bodybuilder type of dude, like Mason Ryan. Have him come out to hair metal type of music, with attire similiar to Hogan, Warrior, & Macho Man. Have him cut promos in the old school style.
