A lot of people try to stay away from games that range from mediocre (Dr. Muto) to drink coaster (Superman 64). But has their ever been a time when you played one of these "busts," that you actually enjoyed it?

There are many times when I have played games that were labeled mediocre and bad...and said games turned out to be ok. I find the opposite to be true as well. Let me see if I can remember some of these games...
1. True Crime NYC: I don't care what people say about this game...I really like it. Is it glitchy? Yes. Is it buggy? Yes. Does it lack the same level of polish that GTA has? Yes. Does all that stop it from being a rather enjoyable experience? I say No. I just find it more enjoyable and rewarding stopping crime instead of going around beating up hookers...Although, beating up hookers can be slightly fun...slightly.
2. Capcom vs SNK 2: Did you know that there are websites that actually gave this game a bad rating? Unbelievable...and I don't think I need to explain why.
3. Spiderman 3 for the Wii: It really wasn't as bad as some say it is. Sure, it was a piss poor port of the other versions...but it still had its moments.
4. Universal Studio's game for the GC: I am not afraid to admit that I actually enjoyed some parts of this game. Sure, it was cheesy, cheap, and not much of a game...But I cannot deny that some of the minigames were actually quite fun.
5. Castlevania 64: Best...3D Castlevania game...ever. Despite all of its flaws(and there were alot), I can't deny that I found the game to be ok. I'd actually really like to play it again...if I could find a cheap copy.
Thats all I can think of at the moment. Can't remember any other games...

I forget the name of it, but one of those Zelda games on the CDi was actually pretty fun. :$
I wonder what Ozone's going to pick.

Depends on what system maybe because the PS2 one was fucking great and I think other people enjoyed it as well.

I liked that game too and I still own my copy of it on the Gamecube, I thought it was way better than the sequel Streets of NY but the final boss was a bitch to beat.

Define bust because this topic is asking for a contradicting answer.
How can it be a bust if you enjoyed it?
Oh and btw no one liked Superman 64. It's impossible to like that game unless you are so hard for Superman that just seeing him blows your mind.

I think the GC version got some rather bad reviews. Which is the version I actually have and really enjoy. The main complaint in the reviews is always about the GC's tiny digital pad...Which is sorta funny because I found that once you get use to the GC's digital pad...its really easy to pull off the moves. I actually tried out the PS2 version later on and found the digital pad to be quite annoying on the PS2 controller. Its a especially a real bitch when trying to pull off certain special moves...Although, I find Guilty Gear to be alot worse in this department than CvS2...Alot. Ehhh...Maybe its just me.

What I mean was a game that was poorly received, that nobody would play.

I'm sure he has a nice long list to choose from.
Oh, I absolutely loved Sim Theme Park, and I still would if the disc worked.

I still remember this one...
"Michael Jordan: Chaos in the Windy City" (SNES)
Michael goes through some haunted labratory in Chi-town and beats up zombies and evil characters with a supply of basketballs that he pulls from nowhere. I was so young, but this was my first moment of loving something just for the pure cheesy hilarity of it

I have "Superman Returns" on PS2 and it's repetitive but good.
"Blade II" gets a lot of hate but it's one of my favorites. It's way better than Blade on PS1 & GBC.
Another is "Universal Studios theme park adventure". I originally got this for the "Back To The Future" level but theres other levels I still have fun with. I beat the game even though some parts are mad hard.

Superman Returns could have been amazing...if it wasn't for the "fight the robots or dragons or robots and dragong, repeat" gameplay it could have been awesome; Superman was damn near perfect to control, it was just everything else.

My friend and i watched AVGN's video, so we decided to play it, and it wasn't too bad on multiplayer...the characters just jump way too far.
And E.T. is soo bad and irritating, its fun to pass around with friends to play it.

That game kicked ass. I remember getting this game when I was a kid.
Good times.
Also, I might be the only one, and it might be a good thing, but I have never played Superman 64. :suspic:

I never played Superman 64 either.
I'll have to think about my favourite "bad" games and come back in here, though.

A bust? Seriously? That game was awesome only Killer Instinct on the SNES could compare.

Superman 64 shouldn't be even considered a game, flying through rings in a polygon mess then having to destory cars isn't a game, E.T. has more depth than that.
Eternal Champions was good when i played it, nothing on Mortal Kombat though.

dont forget how metropolis's buildings like 50% were just drawn on the ground, so when you land in certain spots your walking on the street and rooftops all at once LOL
I am not a real avid gamer, but I guess I can list Crush Hour. I thought that was a fun game that I always played with my brother.

I dont remember it being highly reviewed? Does anyone remember an NES game called Renegade? It was a bastard version of Double Dragon.
