I finally beat Metal Gear Solid 4... and After 21 hours, 1 minute and 1 second... i have to say its the best game i have ever played in the longest time.. the story was awesome.. the graphics were sick... could do the craziest things.. the bosses were cool... i couldnt stop playing it.. sure i died alot..lol..and some of the bosses took forever to figure out how to beat.. but hey its over now and i miss it already..
Im really hoping for a Number 5.. if it can be as good as 4.... I really liked how they put Metal Gear Solid 1, 2 and 3 all intot he mix.. they had all the same characters rather they be modified or not...at one point your have a dream that your in Metal Gear 1... they put alot of thought into this game.. and I personally give it a 10 out of 10... even the background music they played on certain scenes were awesome...
thoughts?....

I just beat this yesterday at around the same length. What score did they give you at the end? I got Eagle because I ruled with headshots. Although, I'm a good person, so I only killed when I didn't have any other option.
Hideo Kojima is a genius. All of the little things that he puts into the game are as awesome as all of the great big ones. The boss fights were so cool and tough. The cut scenes were brilliant, although very long at times. The graphics were perfect, and made some of the chicks like Mei Ling look like I actually have a real shot. The audio was fantastic. The gameplay was soooo good. And the story? Maybe I was too dumb before, but after playing this game the storyline makes perfect sense to me. It's one of the best of any games I've seen. I'm a big fan of everything they put into the game. I give Metal Gear Solid 4 a Perfect score. Go get this game folks. Buy a PS3 if you need to.
The coolest part about beating the game besides experiencing one of my favorite video games ever? Now I can play through from the beginning with a young looking Snake, and in a badass suit if I want.
METAL GEAR 5! We need a Metal Gear 5. Give us Metal Gear 5.

I was bored of it an hour in. Don't see why people cream themselves over the MGS series. Only one that was even slightly entertaining was 2.

It's because the concept is cool and unique as hell, and it's pulled off flawlessly with the gameplay and characters that people love. Duh.

There's nothing wrong with long cut scenes. They told the story marvelously, tying up all the series' plot points, and made playing as Snake one of the coolest experiences in gaming. There's never too much of a good thing, and there's plenty of time to take control of Snake after the videos.

MGS 4 is great for 3 Reasons
1. It lived up to the hype unlike so many other games.
2. It wrapped up every major loose plot threads in a series of 6-7 video games, something most movies today can't even do right in a trilogy.
3. It was fun. Say what you want about the cutscenes (Best Movie Evar!!!!), but they got you involved in the game. The levels were great and nostalgic, the bosses were just ridiculously fun to fight.
Metal Gear online is alright, nice addition, but I still only play every once in awhile. My biggest gripe about the game s something that was my fault. I sent my PS3 in for repair, the save file I had ended up not copyng over on my Jump Drive, I now have to play throgh the game to get The Boss Extreme again and beat it!

I think MGS4 is completely overhyped. Sure, its a good game and all...but it isn't at the level of greatness that many people put it at. Hell, after beating MSG4 a couple of times...I actually went back and finally played through MGS3 and I can honestly say that MGS3 was a hell of alot better than MGS4.
The cutscenes in MGS4 were insanely boring for the most part...Although, there were a few exciting moments I guess...only a few. In contrast, I found the cutscenes in MGS3 intriguing and genuinely entertaining for the most part.
The story in MGS4 was a little flat...and in some areas was completely lacking. The bosses were especially lacking in any kind of meaningful character buildup. In contrast, MGS3 story was good...Although, it was a little too preachy and slightly cliched. The bosses in MGS3 were great...the only one that was lacking in buildup was "The Fury"...he was still cool though.
Gameplay wise, MGS4 was a good step up in some areas...but a slight step back on others...mostly because some of the newer things killed some of the older aspects and also some older play mechanics were omitted from the game.
Another thing I didn't like about MGS4 was that it felt way more linear than MGS3. MGS3 had more of a bit of an open world so it didn't feel as confined or restricted than MGS4.
MGS4 was also way too short and way too easy. Once you got past the first two missions...the amount of gameplay really takes a nose dive. The AI wasn't all that great either...for a system thats supposed to be able to pull off higher, better, and more believable AI...MGS4 was a huge disappointment in that area. It was relatively on the same level as the older MGS games...maybe even lower in some respects.
The graphics were really good though...
All in all, I'd say MGS4 is a good game...but its not a great game or its not as good as its predecessor. Its like how GTA:SA is alot better content wise than GTA4. That game also took some steps forward and some big steps back.

I Believe i was the cheatah!... but I would have to go look again...lol
The Game was awesome.. its the first game that I baught that when i died like 5 or 6 times in the same place you didnt get annoyed as easily as you would in other games... the only things that really bugged me in that game was how long it took me to figure out how to kill Vamp... and how to kill the Boss who controlled everyone with strings!
The Videos, The Sounds.. the extent they went to, to make the game so real was just amazing!... but i think the one things that got it all for me was the fact that they used all 4 games in one.. I loved how they used Vamp again.. and they used Olgas little girl Sunny... I love how they used Raiden!.. I love how they had all the new guys like Dreben.. Made it alot easier to buy the ammo as needed then having to go find him in places you know... but I agree 100%... WE NEED A METAL GEAR 5!!!

you have no idea how many times i got caught before i realized maybe it would be best to switch to the octo camo, i thought the damn trench coat was to make you blend in w/ everybody else and not look suspicious, and that ear thingy was WORTHLESS. thank god the game exploded on all cylinders after that level was over.

The ear thingy was in case you lost the guy and needed to know what area you could find him in. I needed to use it at least once, so there WAS a reason for it.
And yeah, I basically just switched to the octocamo for that part, but the ability to use young Snake's face was a pretty cool decision. The suit made sense because you had to use it to get into the city. Guys wearing spy uniforms while entering a country on the lookout for them are just plain stupid.
Was I the only one who was having problems with the second costume you get? I think it was some middle eastern PMC outfit. I put it on, but it didn't seem to have any effect.

Really? That part was actually quite easy to get through without switching your camo. All you really needed to do was keep your distance from the guy and hide behind the buildings and vehicles and use the camera controls to keep tabs on him...And then use the tranquilizer with a silencer to take out the PMCs...and then use the Barrel to prevent yourself from being spotted by the Helicopter and the Search Jeep...or whatever it was. Pretty easy...only fucked up on it once because the guy backtracked to where the Helicopter was and I forgot to hide away from the spotlight.

my problem was it told you were he was but in a giant f'n area marked in yellow made it still feel like finding a needle in a haystack, just walking around and listening for wistling was easier and quicker most of the time for me.
found that middle eastern outfit my 2nd time through the game (when i went through not killin anyone for the bandana) and it worked for me 3/5 of the time, but for some reason after some levels later it disapeared from my costume choices list....
ahh, never thought about the barrel, hell after i was out of the middle east i forgot i even had it in my inventory LOL

You know what my one true complaint is? Not enough awesome camouflage spots like the statues near the beginning. Heck, I never even got a chance to use that spot as an actual way to avoid detection. They should've added more of those spots.
Also, no nude ladies in the playboys. :@

There was a statue spot in the tailing mission too. It was in the park...and if you got to it before the guy you were tailing got there...Uhhh...He'd pee on you.
I have a complaint too...And thats that the emotion darts absolutely did not work on the female soldiers. That sucked because I really wanted to make them pee with the fear dart...Hehe...

was it just me... or was the Missions briefings longer then Game PLay....hahaha!... Dont get me wrong.. I enjoyed them.. the Story was incredable in the game!... and the game wouldnt have been half as good if they were not there.. but I have to admit... ESP at the end of the game... those videos were something else ah!

The videos at the end of Act 3 are surely the longest off the top of my head. That was a long ass wait between gameplay.
